Medical Assistant (MA) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our growing physician-owned cardiovascular practice. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional looking for a supportive, team-oriented environment with a consistent and predictable schedule.

 

Schedule

  • 4-day work week (Full-Time) or Part-Time
  • No call required
  • No night shifts

 

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
  • Assist physicians during clinic visits 
  • Perform and record electrocardiograms (ECGs)
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical equipment
  • Triage patient phone calls and relay messages to the clinical team
  • Contact patients by phone to deliver test results and follow-up instructions
  • Assist with scheduling patients for procedures, referrals, and follow-up appointments
  • Accurately document patient interactions in the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients on cardiovascular conditions, medications, and follow-up care
  • Assist with prior authorizations and referral coordination as needed
  • Willingness to assist with all aspects of patient care in a small, collaborative practice setting

 

Qualifications

  • Current MA certification (CMA or RMA) or LPN licensure in the state of South Dakota required
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a cardiology or specialty clinic setting
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records
  • Friendly, patient-centered approach to care

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly wage of $25 to $28 per hour, commensurate with experience and certification
