Thomas Wilson, MD, FSCAI is a board-certified interventional cardiologist practicing in Rapid City, South Dakota and the greater West River region. He also practices general and preventive cardiology, as well as endovascular medicine to care for patients with peripheral arterial disease. He received additional training in complex high-risk indicated coronary artery procedures (CHIP) and chronic total occlusion (CTO) coronary interventions. Dr. Wilson enjoys caring for patients who have been told they are not candidates for bypass surgery, or those seeking a second opinion who may have been told “surgery is the only option.”

Dr. Wilson believes in a holistic mindset when treating patients with cardiovascular disease. He understands a patient-centered approach is required, working together with patients and their families to fulfil health-related goals and improve quality of life. For some, education about a heart-healthy lifestyle and exercise regimen is critically important. For others, discussing the role of each medication to prevent further cardiovascular damage is key to improving quality of life.
